KAndrew Designs Gingerbread card

** links have been edited to include the link to the cut file by KAndrew Designs, This card is featured as the example!!! I was so thrilled and honored to see that!**

I just love this card, it is so stinking cute!! I used a KAndrew Designs file out of the November Grab bag available at Visual Art By Chris. The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms "Winter Wishes" set and the papers are from my scrap basket. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and I used my Bow Easy to tie the bow. The button is from my sewing stash, The faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps, the twine is from PaperTrey Ink and I colored the button with Copic markers. I created the tag in SCAL2 after I measured the sentiment so I could size it to fit. I pop dotted up the Gingerbread man holding the heart and the sentiment. One more note of interest, my Cricut Expression just does not like to cut tiny stuff and the frosting on the Gingerbread men is tiny, I tried and it just didn't cut well so I hand drew it on with a snow pen and then puffed it up with my heat gun. (Like the marines say, Improvise and Overcome! LOL)

Poinsettia Card

I love the way this card turned out!! The Poinsettia is a Penny Duncan cut file (available for free from her blog) and I cut it out with my Cricut, sprayed it with Glimmer Mist and assembled the flower and it sat on my shelf for a month! I just had to get a vision, LOL. I wanted to make a simple but elegant card and I think this fits the bill. I used Kraft paper as the card base, cut A2 size. Then a layer of white shimmer paper and a a layer of red paper with some texture. The fancy mat is the Fleur De Lis mat from SCAL-E Files Blog (also free) and the sentiment mat is from Spellbinders fancy Tags set. A small gold ribbon and Merry Christmas sentiment finishes off the card, oh yea, and I added Stickles, I am loving my Stickles! (I have a whole Sand Bucket full of Stickles!) Merry Christmas Everyone! (I love to say that, this is my favorite time fo the year!!)

They are fun and easy, if you do not resize they are on the small size but with an expression are easy to make larger. They are perfect table decorations.I didn't do anything special to them and I used scrap paper to make them! I hope everyone had a Fabulous Thanksgiving!!

Jesus is the Reason....

This is a simple card with lots of impact, The stamps is from Inkadinkado, I bought it last year after Christmas on Clearance. I double matted it the bottom mat is the same paper and I embossed it with the Tim Holtz bark embossing folder and  distressed it with Tim holtz Distress ink, then a black mat, then the stamped image, also distressed and colored with Copic markers. I colored the image with light colors to mimic watercolors and I used my Irock to add some stars. The sentiment is from Scrappy mom's Stamps, "Winter Wishes" stamp set. I feel like the black mat adds a lot of impact, I love the way this card turned out.

Thanksgiving "Eat Pie" Banner

The Creative junkie Too Design Team theme this time was "I am Thankful...", I am Thankful for a lot in my life, one of the biggies is our 21 month old, very active, little boy, so this was for him. (Not to mention for all of the Turkeys in the World) . I really like the way this one turned out, it is fun, cute and was fairly quick (which I need with a 21 month old very active little boy!) I used Sure Cuts A Lot 2 to make this entire banner, the scalloped rectangles are from Penny Duncan, the inside rectangles are from the Basic Shapes library, sized to fit. The pies are from my vast SVG collection but I do not know where I got it and the Turkey is from Treasure Box Designs “I’m Cooked” Collection. The papers are from DCWV and Bazzill, along with some scrap paper. The font I used is called “A Truer Blue” and I liked the child like quality of it. I hope y’all enjoy my Thanksgiving Banner and have a wonderful Blessed Thanksgiving!

Deck the halls

This super cutie of a card, I created using the Cricut cartridge "Winter Frolic". I love Winter Frolic, it has tons of really cute images on it. The tree papers are Bo Bunny, the background paper and the tag are from the 6x6 Kaisercraft "Christmas Carnival Collection" paper pack and the rest is from Papertrey Ink. I used my white gel pen for accents and some Stickles on the Christmas bulbs. The sentiment stamp is from Craft lounge's "Sea-sons Greetings" stamp set. I think this card turned out really cute and clean, I am into cute and clean looking! LOL (apparently I am also into bling!! LOL)

Twas the Night Before Christmas Eve.......

This is a tongue in cheek kind of card and I love it!! I just love this clothesline of Santa's clothes, so I got the idea to show Mrs. Claus' very busy life! if she is anything like me and my life then those clothes would be drying on the line of Christmas Eve and Santa would be sitting in his robe waiting!! LOL
I used SCAL2 and SVGcuts.com cut files from the "Santa's North Pole Workshop" set to create this card. The background, clothesline, poles and clothes are all from this set as well as the Mrs. Claus inside.... that's right, this one is all done inside as well! Most of the time I write a personal note inside and do not really decorate the inside except for a strip or two of paper (maybe). Mrs.Claus' face is a Peachy Keen stamp from the PK-480 "Christmas Character Face Assortment" set, I colored the glasses with a white gel pen and gave her rosy cheeks with a Copic marker and then did tiny white dots with the gel pen. I used my Cri-Kits pens to create the sentiment (it took me a good day of thinking about it to come up with the sentiments! LOL) I used both Diamond Stickles and Candy Cane Stickles on Santa's Clothes as well as my Irock and some clear gems to accent the snowflakes. The papers are shimmer papers from Archivers (The Paper Company) and the stripe is from a Kaisercraft stack from last year. The snowflake background paper is a digital paper that I printed out from Sanqunetti Designs from www.mygrafico.com, this is from the "Jolly Days Paper" set. The label and mat for the label is from the SVGcuts.com "Christmas Cookie Party" set. I hope you like the card! Leave me a comment letting me know what you think and remember each comment on all post made in November gives you a chance at the $20 Gift Certificate from SVGcuts.com, the more you comment, the more chances you have to win!! (I realize this is self serving, but what can I say, I really LOVE the comments! LOL)

More SVGcuts.com boxes

These two boxes are in the "Christmas Gift Boxes and Bags" set from SVGcuts.com (you can get them for free if you win the Gift Certificate I am giving away this month!) I made the star box and the pillow box. I did enlarge the pillow box as big as I could for a 12x12 piece of cardstock. I used a snowflake from my svg stash (if you know where I got it please let me know so I can give credit!) I cut the snowflake out of iridescent paper and blinged it up with my Irock and the largest size jewel from the round multi size pack you get at Michaels. The ribbons are from Hobby Lobby and the star box has two ribbons for added pop. These boxes are so fun to make and give, this needs to be a set you get soon!!

Gingerbread Man Card

I think this is one of the cutest cards and it was super easy! I used the Gingerbread man from the SVGcuts.com "Christmas Cuddly Friends" svg set, the paper is from Bo Bunny (red Polka Dot and Green polka Dot), Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly( peppermint stripe) and PaperTrey Ink for the solids. The sentiment is from the "Winter Wishes" stamp set by Scrappy moms, the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and the jewel is from my stash. I make all of my Christmas cards different, that way I don't get bored. So some are simple and some are more elaborate but they are all fun to make! :-) leave me some love and let me know what you think! Thanks!!

Birthday Card from Smiley Cards Cart

Hi Everyone, I am really, really enjoying the comments! Today I have a card for you, I made it for a dear friend's Birthday, her day is today and it got in the mail today too, don't worry I called and told her it was coming late! I really love the way this card turned out, it is bright and cheerful. I used a Kraft paper base cut at 6x6 inches. The loopy mat is from SVGcuts.com's "4x6 photo Frames" and I re sized it in SCAL2 so that it the size I wanted. The inside mat is from K & Company's "Summer Travel paper pad" The solid papers are PaperTrey Ink paper. The cake, chat bubble and sentiment are all from the Smiley Cards Cartridge (the free download one with the Gypsy). I used Stickles on the pink frosting, the silver cake plate and on the candles (I really like Stickles, can ya tell?) The face is from peachy keen's PK-570 "Basic Paper Doll Assortment". The ribbon is from Hobby lobby (fabric section), the button is from my sewing stash and it was white and I colored it with a Copic marker and the twine is from PaperTrey Ink. The inside is done too, I used the patterned papers in strips and punched the border with a Fiskars punch. The cupcake is from a svg file that I can't remember where I got it (sorry). I also Stickled up the cupcake and I used the Candycane stripe Cuttlebug embossing folder on the cupcake wrapper (I put it in sideways so the stripes ran up and down straight) The oval (where I wrote a personal note) is from SCAL2 shapes library, and I used a white gel pen from Ranger to doodle with.  I hope y'all like it! happy Birthday, Shanna!! Love ya

Time for some Thanks-GIVING!

Since it is November I wanted to give some Thanks-Giving to all of my wonderful Followers. I am giving away a $20 Gift Certificate to SVGcuts.com. Leo and Mary matched my $10 for a total of $20 to one very lucky Follower (aren't they just the BEST folks and Company!!??). The rules to this giveaway are a little different this time! Since I have a heavy slight obsession with reading all comments I have decided there are two "rules"
1. you must be a Follower (I really like Followers, it makes me feel good!) If you are not a Follower feel free to sign right on up!!
2. every comment on each post this month will give you one entry toward winning the GC from SVGcuts.com. This starts as of the first of November so there are a couple of posts you can comment on so far. I also have three more completed projects to post so far!
I will draw the winner on December 1st and since this is email-able, you will receive your prize on December 1st as well!!
So, Thanks for following and commenting and sending me a bit of love with each comment (and to be honest, some days I really need that love!)
Love to you all,
Tammy

SVGcuts.com boxes

Y'all just HAVE to make some of these boxes, I have had so much fun making them and I can't wait to make more but my laptop battery has to charge and the desktop computer needs a new power supply and UPS hasn't brought me a new one yet. The square box is the small square box from the SVGcuts.com set "Big Boutique Boxes", this is the coolest set, I will be making a ton of these boxes!! The tree box is from the "Christmas Gift Bags and Boxes" and right now, this is free with any $9.99 purchase, just use the coupon code FREEGIFT. The poinsettia on the top of the box is from the SVGcuts.com set "3D Wintergreens" This was so fun to cut and create. OK, so let me give you the "recipe" for each item, first the small square box, I cut this one at the size it comes (I resisted resizing it LOL) it took two 8.5x11 sheets of cardstock and one 12x12 piece of cardstock. It ended up being 4.75 x 4.75 inches square. I wanted a drippy poinsettia to cover the top, like a high end boutique box (LOL) so I used the poinsettia file from the 3D Wintergreens set (not the spindly one) and resized it to cover the top. I used Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist on the leaves and petals (I wish I could but this stuff by the 55 gallon drum, I love it that good!) I assembled it with glue dots and one pop dot to give some dimension, and a pearl in the center. The Christmas tree box took two sheets of 8.5x11 sheets of cardstock and then two small scraps in different greens. I decorated my tree with a gold foil star (from an old Creative Memories Limited Edition punch) and some Irock jewels that I colored with Copic markers, I colored a few red, a few green and left a few clear. I just love these boxes and I can't wait to make more, everyone on my Christmas list is getting something in a handmade box this year. Please go to SVGcuts.com and check them out, they have some great files, and just so you know, they do not sponsor me in any way nor do I get anything free for telling you about them, I just really love their files and I think you will too!!!

Pumpkin Iris Card

A Friend of mine told me all about this new technique she learned in a class at a local scrapbooking class she took, it was iris folding. I do not have any scrapbooking store in my area so I Googled iris folding and watched a few Youtube videos and here is my rendition! The pumpkin frame svg is available for a free download to the right (I have a small list of free svg files that I created) After I cut the frame out on my Cricut, I used some Glimmer Mist in Copper to give it some added detail, in the photo this looks very different that it does in person, in person it is very subtle. Then I chose 6 different fall prints that are smaller sized prints and the paper was thin (if you want to use heavier card stock do not fold your paper and ink your edges)I cut my paper into 1 inch strips and then folded them in half. Then you start placing and taping your pieces into place, I just winged it (LOL) but you can get patterns and also master patterns that can be used with any shape (again just Google iris folding and look at the images) For my iris center I used a $1 stamp I bought at Archivers and stamped a turkey in the center on some Kraft paper, I also stamped "Thankful" on the card from this same stamp set. I finished off the card by using some ribbon from Hobby Lobby, a button from my sewing stash and some twine . I do think that iris folded images are busy looking so I like keeping the rest of the card simple. I hope you try some iris folding if you haven't already!
