Nuts About You Acorn Card

I just love this cute card!! The Acorn shaped card base is a KAndrew Designs cut file and so is the Squirrel and the sentiment and small acorn on the sentiment. This file cut beautifully. I did take a few liberties. I deleted the face that is part of the acorn card base, I deleted the squirrel's eye and used a Peachy Keen Critter Face stamp. I also copied the squirrel and created a base layer and a top layer so I could give him more dimension. I wish I had done the sentiment in a more orange color but I was using scraps out of my scrap basket and this is what worked best! I also wanted to let you all know that I am planning a series of beginner SCAL2 (Sure Cuts A Lot) Tutorials, this will help the new SCAL2 owners and those who have it and are not sure how to get started. I hope to get the first one up early this coming week! Remember I am working around naptime for a Toddler who thinks that sleep is overrated so please bear with me!

Winter Faces Cards

Hey Everyone,
I am loving these Winter Faces by My Scrap Chick. With some fun paper (shimmer, foil, and fun patterns) and the Cuttlebug and of course, the Cricut and SCAL this come together quickly and they are Cute!!! I did all four and only the Penguin does not have any Cuttlebugged pieces, I am still thinking I might be able to do the beak! I used two embossing folders, Tim Holtz's Sizzix Wood Grain Texture Fade folder and D'Vine Swirls. I use the Time Holtz EF on the carrot nose and the reindeer antlers, and the swirls on Santa's beard. I hope you all like them and try them out. The patterns are available at My Scrap Chick (link at the end of this post) Please leave me some love and let me know what you think!!! Take Care and I will be back very soon!!

Snowflake Card

This card turned out so pretty but it does not photograph well at all!! I used white shimmer paper as a base for the A2 sized card and a pretty K & Co. swirly, glittery paper from their Brenda Walton Peppermint Twist paper stack. The snowflake is the "candy" one from the "When It's Cold Outside" Cricut Seasonal Cartridge (from last Christmas) I used an iridescent paper to cut the snowflake out and the shadow is cut from an aqua shimmer paper from The Paper Company. I also used my Irock for the jewel in the center of the flake and the three accent jewels (I love my Irock!!) I also added a little aqua Stickles to the center of the snowflake for accent. The sentiment (Snowflakes are Kisses sent from heaven) is from Scrappy Mom's "Winter Wishes" stamp set. I added some ribbon from Hobby Lobby and popped up the snopwflake with a popdot. I decorated the inside with the same papers.

Count your Blessings Tri-fold shutter card

Hi Everyone,
I am sorry I haven't posted lately, it has been crazy around here, we have had a death in the family, the baby refuses to get back on a schedule since we returned from our trip and I could go on and on! LOL I have been wanting to make a tri fold shutter card for a long time now and decided to make one. This one uses cut files from KAndrew Designs (the Turkey), svgcuts.com (the pumpkin and vine), Scrappy mom's stamps, and the leaf is from scrappingtable.com's fall theme set (she now requires you to have a subscription for her theme sets). The papers are from DCWV. This was a fun card to make and I want to do a Christmas version soon!! I wanted to add that the Turkey is part of the October Grab Bag over at Visual Design By Chris (this is where KAndrew sells her cut files) and it is a great deal, $7 for 11 files sets, each with multiple cut files, the retail value is $37. Check it out!

Halloween Banner ~ Home Decor

Hello Everyone,

Thanks so much for following me, both my new and older followers, I love seeing that folks are interested in my projects and I especially LOVE comments. I have been working on this Halloween Banner since returning home from my trip, it isn't July but I finally got it done (it took me so long, I told a few friends I was projecting a completion date of July for this!) I completely Craft-lifted this idea from KAndrew Designs, I love her blog so check her out! I used three cricut carts (Plantin Schoolbook for the triangles, cut at 6 inches; Mini Monsters for all the creatures but the bat; and happy hauntings for the bat, witches hat and the Spooky Font letters) I strung it all together with twine from paperTrey Ink and the ribbon on the ends is from hobby Lobby. I used my Crop-a-Dile and some eyelets (eyelets off of Ebay) to create the holes for the twine and ribbon. The paper is a mixture of K& Company and some I printed. (A Hint, I actually cut the triangles twice per triangle, I backed each one with a black triangle to give the piece more weight) I plan to keep this for a few years.

Please leave me a comment letting me know what you think! I love comments!!
