SVGcuts.com Snowmen Village

Mary over at SVGcuts.com has created another super cute svg set!! The Snowman Village set is oh, so cute and easy to piece. I chose 4 of the 16 different snowmen and snowwomen in the set. I made the Classic Snowman, Fisherman, Pirate and the Snowy Potter. (I am a HUGE Harry Potter Fan! LOL) I will tell you a few things you might want to know, these snowmen are HUGE if you cut them as created, like somewhere around 6 inches or more assembled.  If you would like to put these on a card you need to resize them smaller. It is easy to resize in either SCAL or MTC, so that is no problem. I ended up laminating them and putting magnet material on the back and making Snowmen "Action Figures" for my little one to play with. (I am not allowed to call them paper dolls, since he is a boy, per my Husband LOLOL) I also used googly eyes, I really love googly eyes! :-) Also, you might want to glue the googly eyes on after you laminate them! (I had to do eye surgery on Snowy Potter with my mat knife.) This set also includes an "extra" which turns the snowmen into boxes which are super cute and I will be making some of these! You get a lot for your money with this set, this is a definite BUY!! have fun creating!

**** Merry Christmas****

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope you and your Family(s) have a fabulous Holiday and that 2011 is the best year ever for us all!! So far we have had a wonderful Christmas, Jeremy received a John Deere Power Wheel Ride on Tractor from Santa and he is Loving it!! (I hope He learns to steer soon! LOL) We are eating our Holiday meal with my Grandmother (she will be 86 on her birthday in March) and all of our family (I think there will be about 50 of us and that is no where near the whole immediate family) Yesterday was Gene and my 24th Wedding Anniversary and we had a very nice day, it was very busy since I was way behind this year (it is hard to get things accomplished with a toddler) but we pulled it together and had a great day! Thank you all for all of your support this year and I have big plans for 2011!
Merry Christmas!

Christmas Gift Tags...Craft Junkie Too Design Team

I bought a huge roll of kraft paper at my local Independently owned Office Supply store and decided to wrap all of my Christmas gifts in it and use some wire edged ribbon I bought at a yard sale this summer. Since I was using kraft paper I decided to make my own gift tags. I made a dozen of the Santa face tags, these are from Treasure Box Designs, I made 5 of the Christmas Tree tags, these are from SVGcuts.com (this is actually from their Christmas Bags and Boxes but if you import the tree box lid and the scallop pieces, then use the basic shapes in SCAL2 to get a triangle sized to fit the box top so that the scallop pieces will fit, then delete from the mat the box top and you have your tag pieces) I was able to get 5 tree triangles per sheet of 12 x 12 paper. The snowman is a file that was in my Christmas folder but there is nothing to tell me where it came from so... I wish I could give credit where it is due, if anyone knows who made it please let me know. These are super quick and fun to make and everyone is commenting on them, my Sister said she is whiting out the names and reusing them next year! LOL

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

i am very pleased to announce that I was chosen to be a part of Super Joy's Design Team over at www.joyslife.com. This is such an exciting thing since I think Joy ROCKS!! (I am also excited to see that Jin from Under a Cherry Tree is also a member, I love Jin's work and blog) ((Oh yea, and it is Jin's fault that I am loving Lettering Delights now too)) I have some exciting things planned for 2011 and one of them is that I am doing something Christmas every month on the 25th, I read this idea on a blog somewhere and the idea has stuck with me especially since, right now, I need about three more weeks before Christmas! LOL Next year I hope to be finished earlier and get to enjoy more of the Fabulous Christmas Season plus my little one will be older and we will probably have even more commitments than we have had this year. I do have a few more posts before the end of the year, I am posting my final Design Team project for Craft Junkie Too on Wednesday, it has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of the CJT design team and it has been a lot of fun as well. I will miss Tracy and the other Ladies. I will leave you today with a photo of my little one, He is a funny little guy and makes life ever so much more fun!!

SVGcuts.com Christmas Cuddly Santa Card

This is a fun Christmas card, made with the SVGcuts.com "Christmas Cuddly Friends", some PaperTrey Ink paper and the patterned paper is a digital paper from Design House Digital's Jen Allyson and her "Merry Little Christmas paper Collection". The Santa is cut at 4 inches, the digi paper was resized in Photoshop CS3 to 5 x 5 inches (doing this shrinks the graphics to make them for proportionate for cards) I cut the tag from SCAL2 basic shapes collection (comes with SCAL2) the Ribbon is from Norfolk Floral Wholesale (50 yards for $10) the button is from my sewing stash and the twine si from PaperTrey Ink. I inked the edges of the tag and the sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge's "Reindeer Kisses" stamp set. Let me know what you think via a comment! Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Distressed Joy card

I have seen many cards on other blog that featured Sentiments and I decided I wanted to make one so I went to my stamp collection and picked one out. The Sentiment stamps (this is three different stamps) are all from one set of PaperTrey Ink stamps. The paper is a manilla cardstock from a ream from Wal-mart and the red is Archiver's Cardstock, the ribbon is from Dollar Tree. The brocade paper is from DCWV. I am liking the way it turned out so now I want more sentiment stamps that are larger so I can make some similar cards next year!!
Merry Christmas

Snowman card (Lettering Delights new svgs)

I am not sure if I am sending Christmas cards this year or not, I love so many of the ones I have created that I am not sure if I can part with them!! LOL This card was created using Lettering Delights new svg set "Merriment" and the BEST part about it is that they are offering it for FREE!!! (Free is always so great!) I also discovered that if you resize you digi paper in Photoshop, it shrinks it down so the pattern is more size appropriate for the smaller card size! WOO Hoo, this was a fantastic discovery for me (I am sure I am the last to know this, but just in case, I thought I would share my major discovery) The card base is PaperTrey Ink paper in Hawaiian Shores, then a white mat (Walmart paper by the ream) then the patterned paper is digi paper from the Free digi kit at Design House Digital, you receive this kit when you sign up for the newsletter. The snowman is from the Merriment svg collection from Letter Delights and the sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge, the scalloped mat on the sentiment was punched from a Stampin' Up punch and the ribbon is from Norfolk Floral Wholesale (this is another great tip, if you have a floral supply store in your area, go check out their ribbon, I got a 50 yard roll of white satin 5/8" ribbon for $10, this is a steal!!) The snowflake I cut out of iridescent paper and it is from SVGcuts.com "Christmas Cookie Party" svg collection. The jewel in the center is an IRock jewel and I set it with my IRock. I hope y'all like this card, I really love the way it turned out! let me know what you think, comments really brighten my day!!

Stampin Up cards

I created both of these cards last year using the Stampin Up stamp set "Loads of Love" and "Loads of Love Accessories". I used the same papers from an old DCWV paper stack and just switched them up a bit. The ribbon is from Stampin Up and the Merry Christmas is from one of my vast stamp collection. I used Glossy Accents on the trucks to give them the look of a car's clear coat. These cards turned out super cute and they were fun to color with my Copic markers.

Treasure Box Designs Card

I made this cutie patootie card using the Treasure Box Designs "Cocoa Cafe" set from the Village Series, this is #3 in the Village Series. I used scrap paper from my scrap basket and some twine I picked up at Wal-mart. The sentiment is from the Scrappy mom's stamp set "Winter Wishes" (This is a MUST have set for Christmas cards). I did a little inking around the edges and the background mat is from the basic shapes in SCAL2. I hope y'all like this card as much as I do!!

Craft Junkie Too DT Organizational tips for the Holidays

I was asked to give a organizational tip or two and I have had a very hard time with this! LOL I am organized, I have to be because of where I live, we have no craft stores so supplies have to be bought in advance. The first tip I have to make a gift list, I have a master gift list and I buy gifts and things to make into gifts all year long, when I find things on sale. That leads right into the second tip, the picture is of some aluminum water bottles that I found on sale and a glass ornament (plus the supplies I used on the glass ornament) that I bought after Christmas last year, cheap! I try to find things like this all year long and store them in my closet in the craft room, then when a Birthday or Christmas rolls around I have the raw materials to create nice, inexpensive gifts! Happy Holidays Everyone!! I will be back later to show you some more of these ornaments and tell you about the glitter I am using, it is a combo of two different ones and the effect is gorgeous!!

metal embossed ornament card

I think this card turned out so well! I used Make-the-Cut software, my cricut, the embossing tool and mat from Cri-Kits.com and Lettering Delights "Trim The Tree" graphics file to create this card. The card is 8.5 x 5.5 and I cut the large ornament at 3 inches, the wide ornament at 2.5 inches and the long ornament at 2 inches. I used the metal and embossing tool and mat from Cri-Kits.com to emboss the insides of the ornament and then cut the ornaments out with my Cricut and the standard blade. I double matted the card using a piece of dark red cardstock from Archivers and a piece of white cardstock embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflakes Folder and my Cuttlebug. I also created mats for the ornaments and used AC Cardstock's foil (different colors), I also used the AC Cardstock in silver foil for the hangers. The sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge's "Reindeer Kisses" stamp set and the mat is Spellbinders "Label #4" set. I hope y'all try out the Lettering Delights graphics to create cricut files, they are easy, fun and inexpensive!

Jolly Holidays card

Yes, I am one of the crazies that goes out on Black Friday, in fact, we go out before midnight on Thursday night and return home sometime Friday morning! While out I was able to grab one of the new Cricut Lite Carts at Wal-mart, the Jolly Holidays Cartridge. I used it to make this card of the Snowman decorating his Christmas tree. I used a piece of scrap DCWV paper for the background and if you notice there is a silhouette of Santa in his sleigh and the reindeer! The rest of the paper used was from my scrap basket. The sentiment is Scrappy Mom's from the "Winter Wishes" set and I used some Stickles on the ornaments. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, the button is from my sewing stash and the twine is from Papretrey Ink. Happy Decorating Everyone!!

SVGcuts.com card using Winter Bliss

This card was created using SVGcuts.com "Winter Bliss" Collection. I used several cuts from this collection, the window, the icicles, the children.  The background paper is a digital paper that I printed and the snow is torn white paper. The sentiment sign, I made using a basic shape from SCAL2 and I layered two different ones and used some twine and made it look like a picture hanging on the wall. I think this card turned out right nice, even if I do say so myself! LOL.
